The National Moment of Remembrance Act was established by
Congress in 2000. It calls upon Americans to observe the Moment at
3 p.m., local time, Memorial Day. Wherever Americans are, they are
to pause to remember all the service-members who have fallen for
our American freedoms throughout our nation's history. The White
House Commission on Remembrance was founded with this act and its
mission is to make sure that our fallen are never forgotten.
