Although the majority of dinosaurs died out about 70 million years ago, the present day birds are evolved from theropods and are direct descendants of the dinosaurs. In that manner dinosaurs have not become extinct.

A pteranodon is a pterosaur, or a flying dinosaur. During the
fall of the dinosaurs, all dinosaurs became extinct, including the
pterosaurs.
Non avian dinosaurs became extinct 65.5 million years ago, at
the end of the Cretaceous. However, birds are considered dinosaurs.
Because birds still exist, dinosaurs are not completely
extinct.
