European Portuguese:

In Portugal, it's pretty uncommon to say "girl" in that sentence.

  • Como está(s), moça/rapariga/menina?
  • Olá moça, como tens/tem passado? (Hey girl, how have you been?)
You can also use the word jovem, which can mean young lady (or man).

Miúda and gaja are not advisable unless you know the girl really well since it can be taken offensively by some natives, especially the elderly ones.

Brazilian Portuguese:

  • Como está você, garota ?
  • Garota, como vai você ?
