∙ 12y agoPas means not, but is not generally used alone. It is most commonly used with ne; je ne suis pas (I do not have). -------- "pas" is either "step" (same root as "pace"), or it is part of the "ne ... pas" negation form for a verb. For instance: "je ne veux pas" is "I do not want".
I don't understand = je ne comprends pas you don't understand = tu ne comprends pas, vous ne comprenez pas
je ne pense pas, je ne crois pas.
I do not understand is 'je ne comprends pas' in French.
You do not speak French = Vous ne parlez pas français.I do not speak French = Je ne parle pas français.
ça ne VA pas? - things aren't going well (with you?)
ça ne va pas
Something wrong?
I'm not okay... so when someone asks u ca va? (roughly translated, are u okay?) u either reply with 'ca va' meaning :-), or 'ca ne va pas" meaning :-(
"It isn't going well!" is an English equivalent of the French phrase Ça ne va pas! The declaration translates literally as "That doesn't go!" in English. The pronunciation will be "san va pa" in northerly French and "sa nuh va pas" in southerly French.
il ne va pas le faire.
It is French for "why you are not well".
Qu'est ce qui ne va pas ?
qu'est-ce qui ne VA pas chez vous? - vous n'allez pas bien?
depend the context: "Ca va", "Ce n'est pas grave.", "Ne t'en fais pas", "pas de problème"
don't go to bed too late
No, that will not do. No, that's not alright. No, I don't like it. (it depends on the context).
