192.168.1.1 is the IP address of a network. It can be used to configure the settings of a network.
You have to use the same security settings for your wireless adapter that the network you are attempting to join is using. You need to configure the encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.), and the key in order to join the network. If you do not have this information, contact the network administrator. If this is a home network, contact the person who set it up.

Network setup and configuration refers to installing a network. When you setup the network you configure the settings. Setting up a network is when you install hardware and connect computers so they are using the same network.
If you go to your system settings, then network settings, then wired, then configure network, then go right and press reset to factory defaults. then connect it up again. done. get back to me if your stuck?
