The land area conventions "guntha" & "decimile" are used in orissa(India). the later is pronounced as "dicimil". 1 guntha is approximately equal to 1089 sq ft; that means if the land area is a square its sides will become 33 ft long. Generally 1 guntha equals to 4 decimile. The lengths of land in orissa are measured in "kaddi" which means a chain. 1 kaddi=0.5 ft or 6 inch. So 1000 sq kaddi = 1 decimile = 250 sq foot which is not exactly equal to 1/4 guntha.
