With a date of 1922 the coin is a PEACE dollar and the mintmark can only be a D or S not an O. Values are $16.00-$24.00 for circulated coins regardless of mintmark.
The 1922 is probably a peace dollar. It would have the word peace on the side with the eagle. The 1921 is probably a Morgan dollar. It has a Liberty head on one side and an eagle on the other. These are worth about $25-35 on average.
The Coin Dollar.
No. All US dollar coins have the reverse side of the coin 180 degrees in rotation from the obverse side of the coin.
A 1979 US dollar coin is still worth one dollar.
Sorry NO US one dollar coins dated 1830
The coin you are referring to is a US $1 gold coin, commonly known as the Indian Head or Indian Princess gold dollar. These coins were minted between 1849 and 1889 and feature an image of Liberty as an Indian woman on the obverse side and a representation of a bald eagle on the reverse side.

Usually these have the dollar value on the eagle side, on the bottom, and it will say FIVE D or TEN D.
The mint mark for the 1909 Half Eagle is located on the reverse {eagle} side of the coin just to the left of the arrow points.
It's gold plated, not gold. A gold coin that size would have been worth far more than $1 even back in 1922. The good news is that the underlying silver is still worth at least $10 or so based on whatever the current spot price is. The upside-down eagle is normal. Did you look at the coins in your pocket change? ALL U.S. coins have their reverse side oriented 180º to the front.
You have one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Current value about $16. BUT I GUESS THIS IS NOT SILVER If the word PEACE is under the eagle, you have a standard-issue dollar coin made of 90% silver. Its value is around $16 depending on the price of silver.
The mint mark is located on the eagle side of the coin and is between the word " fine " and the eagle.
