∙ 15y agoThe spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 ) The distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE The distributor cap is installed with the marked # 1 position facing to the rear and slightly towards the drivers side of the engine The engine cylinders / spark plugs are numbered : passenger side of engine , front to rear , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and drivers side of engine , front to rear , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8

It has been my experience with Ford to find this information in the owner's manual which originally was in the glove box. Why they do NOT provide this information in the Chilton's or Haynes Repair Manuals is a question for FAQfarm! I do have the diagram for 1997-2002 Ford Expedition/F-150 & F-250(except Super Duty)/Lincoln Navigator/2 & 4 wheel drive/gasoline engines but I don't know how to post a diagram on this site or if it's even allowed.Sorry I couldn't be more help,let me know if what I have might be of some help to you and/or check with your local mechanic or dealer.Good Luck!Almost forgot,autozone.com has online manuals for some not all vehicles,but they're working on that,worth a look anyway.
You can't turn off the overdrive on your 1996 Ford F150. There is no power coming to the switch. Any ideas?
if it is a tilt wheel,be sure the overdrive cancel button wiring on the shifter isn't chafing on the steering column.remove the ignition switch and the 3 screws securing tie column cover and check for chafing.
