Installing the distributor on your car;
1. Set the crankshaft to top dead center in the firing position.
2. Set the rotor so it will align with spark plug wire #1 on the distributor cap when it is in the engine. The rotor will turn slightly when it meshes with the cam gear, it may take a couple of insertions to get it in the correct orientation.
3, Start the engine and then use a timing light to set the timing to the proper specification.

The cam sensor is the distributor.
On the V6 the ignition module is under the distributor cap.
On the 4.3L V6 the distributor is located in the back of the engine, in the middle. Just follow the spark plug wires and they will lead you to it.
