check your fuses, likely culprit
Remove the tire and wheel from your 2003 Chevrolet Astro Van. Remove the brake shoe spring and caliper. The brake shoes will come off. Reverse the process to install the new brake shoes.
Replace brake light switch.
After fuse (should be labeled) Try bulbs and defective stop light switch
it could be the brake light switch that usually contacts the break pedal when you depress the brake pedal. check that out first.
Sounds like a bad brake light switch. Located above where you put your foot on the brake pedal.
check the brake light relay under the hood
First check the fuse, or you may have a burnt out bulb
The only thing that will work with key OFF is the brake lights,head lights and emergency flashers. Dome light will also work.
Check the brake switch located on your brake pedal shaft. May have to be replaced.
You have a bad ground to the from the glow plug relay to the engine block
If the brake lights are not coming on in your car and you have changed the bulbs and the fuses with no results, you could also check the wiring in your '98 Chevrolet Lumina. The wires may be damaged or even broken.
