When it's running hot you should hear the cooling fan running, if not that is your problem. If the cooling fan does not operate check the fuses, cooling fan relay, cooling fan switch and cooling fan motor. One of them is at fault.

the cooling fan fusible link comes off the battery cable then goes down to a plug that turns up towards the fan relay and also the alternator.
It is on the fender right beside the coolant reservoir.
The fan sensor is bad or the fan relay is stuck. Swapping out the relay is the most likely fix.
Cooling Fan output circuit fault On some vehicles it may double for glow plug out put circuit fault Check fan relay in in place Check that fan runs correct, some vehicles the computer can tell if the fan does not start and run correct.
I believe there is a fan fuse and a fan relayon the 4 cylinder Mustangs. Never heard of a cooling fan sensor. Either mounted to the firewall in the engine compartment or in a fuse box. The V8's will have a fan clutch, mechanical fan mounted to the water pump and turned by the belt.
