Sounds like the battery has a dead cell
The battery to a 1999 Cadillac Seville SLS is underneath the backseat of the car. The car manual explains how to remove the rear seat and gain access to the battery. It is much easier then it sounds.
sounds like the alternater squeling not the belt
That sounds suspiciously like a corroded battery terminal.
sounds like the battery short-circuited.
The battery is left-front-corner under the cross-mount and the main power point box. To remove the battery, you first need to remove the gray-black plastic cover over the windshield wiper/firewall top area. That done, you remove the bolts that hold down the left cross-brace, and you remove the brace from the engine compartment. With the brace out of the way, and with the power box moved to the side, you have access to the battery and its clamping bolts. (There's a plastic clamping wedge down at the base of the battery that you'll want to remember to reinstall). Sounds complex; actually pretty simple.
Sounds like your battery was weak to start with. What you did should not have caused any problems if your battery was in good condition so without seeing it, I think you should remove your battery and have your battery charged and load tested.
Sounds like dirty battery cables. Remove cables from battery and clean battery post and inside of cables. When these get dirty the resistance builds up an alt. Thinks battery is charged. After cleaning you may have to jump to start. Other cause could be the alt, and or battery
Sounds like you are reversing the cables.
My battery died in my Korg M1-how do I retrieve the patches after I replace the battery?
If it's the same conformation in the engine compartment as the 1998, the battery is left-front-corner under the cross-mount and the main power point box. Sounds like a short on one of the battery cells. Get the local tyre and battery shop to check the battery out
