Check and see if your accelerator cable is bent and not straight. Apply a "splint" to fix
inside the distributor its a black module with 3 wires on it , it is made of 2 peaces 2 screws hold it on useally the sytoms for a bad module are the care wont start the car i turns over the fuel pump works , there will be No SPark comming from the coil so don't be tricked by the coil not given spark, common reson why 91 to 94 Mercury capis wont start
located at the rear of the headlight is a manual raise/lower knob. turning this knob in either direction will raise/lower your headlight.
If the headlights on your 1991 Mercury Capri won't go down, it could be due to a faulty headlight motor, a blown fuse, or issues with the headlight switch. First, check the fuse related to the headlight system. If the fuse is fine, listen for any sounds when you try to retract the headlights; if you don’t hear anything, the motor may need replacing. Additionally, ensure the headlight switch is functioning correctly and not stuck in the "up" position.
1988 cougar will not crank over
My '91 Capri had the same problem. It turned out to be a problem with something I had never heard of before. It's called a stator. I believe it is located in or near the distributor, and replacement fixed my problem.
Fuel pump is bad!
Does it turn over? Is it getting fuel? Is it getting spark?
its controlled by the computer. sometimes if you have a vacume leak or something eles is wrong they wont idel right. so you may want to check for a vacume leak somewere first
