Possibly turning on the headlights at dusk.
the auto lamp is your daytime running headlights, their on all the time when you start your car and when you stop your car they go off automatically after a min. or two. you can turn this off buy simply turning the switch down i believe, wait until nighttime and then try it out.
call the auto parts store they can tell you that.

if it has one it could be found between the headlights on the driver side
that ones kind of hard to explain over the internet, so please go to the local auto store and ask for the specs. for what you need, they should be able to bring them up on the computer for you.
According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual : For a ( 1970 ) Lincoln Continental , 460 cubic inch V8 engine The ignition timing is set at ( 10 * Before Top Dead Center )
