1994 Skylark v6 3100 motor Mostly when it's cold it won't start, cranks over good it seems but don't seem to fire. Every once in a while it sounds like it going to start and then just keeps cranking over. Some one told me to try the oxygen sensor well I found out there are two of them and there $70 ea. Also someone else told me to replace the Ignition coil or the Ignition sensor. What do you think?
yes the top speed of a 1994 buick skylark is 112mph it has a rev limiter or what most people call it a governer.
Around 3100-3200 lbs
chain

I put a 95 Grand Am transmission in my 94 and it works great!!!
I have a 1995 Skylark and the gasket was replaced about 4 years ago and I've had no trouble at all. It's a V-6 3100 engine.
First, I would remove the coolant resevoir,(just to get it out of the way) Then put in 3/8 to 1/4 adapter in the tensioner (ther is a square hole near the end) to get leverage. Then you can pry up with a long 3-4foot pry bar. I assume you just want to replace belt. I'm also assuming that your 3100 is the same as my 3100 in my 96 & 98.
front bottom side of motor
no difference 3.1 and 3100 are the same
To replace the water pump on a 1998 Buick Skylark with a 3100 engine, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining the coolant. Remove the serpentine belt, then detach any components obstructing access to the water pump, such as the alternator or power steering pump. Unbolt the water pump from the engine, clean the mating surfaces, and install the new pump with a new gasket. Finally, reassemble everything, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
