not true i have a 97 with a 2.4 ltr quad cam engine and it has 190,000 miles on it.
The intake manifold is where the air and fuel mix and enter the engine. The exhaust manifold is where unspent gas and air exit the engine. In other words the intake manifold is where the engine breathes in and the exhaust manifold is how the engine exhales out.
It blew a hole in the intake manifold? You probably broke a pushrod. Get this engine to a mechanic or engine rebuilder.
if you have the 3.2 engine... you need to be an experience mechanic. The timing belt on this engine drive the water pump. Therefore, the radiator fans needs to be removed, the harmonic balancer ( special tool ) needs to be removed, then the timing belt needs to be taken off. A 2.7L is even worse, the front of the engine, valve covers, and intake manifold need to be removed. The pump is driven by a timing chain. Take it to a mechanic, this is not a DIY job.
I've heard it's under the intake manifold of the engine. Pretty big job, if your not a mechanic. Better left to a professional. Not 100% on this, though.
it does not come with a block heater unless installed by a mechanic. if so, it will be in the engine block under the exhaust manifold. can see it from under the van
In the exhaust manifold behind the engine. In the exhaust manifold behind the engine.
In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine. In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine.
You should go to a certified mechanic or a professional with the experience needed to operate on your vehicle concerning brakes etc. Try looking and comparing different shops in phonebook etc.
The intake manifold is on the top center of the engine. The exhaust manifolds are on the front and rear of the engine.
It is inside the engine between the intake manifold and engine block. Replacing it takes about ten hours for an experienced mechanic. An inexperienced mechanic like you would probably spend twenty hours before giving up and taking it to a pro. To help the pro reassemble your engine, at least write down the distributor position and label the pushrods.
There is 2 on the 6.0L and both of them are underneith the intake manifold. You MUST remove the intake/ TOP OF ENGINE. To change them. IF YOU ARE NOT A MECHANIC, then you need not do it yourself.
The mechanic did my car's engine for free.
