The number one cause of misfires on this engine is the plug wires themselves. Usually, they track somewhere out the side of the plastic insulator that goes inside the plug tube.
I've seen the same problem even with new wire as the plastic tube at the end of the wire slide up....as little as 1/8'' could cause the fire to jump on the cyl. head...
close the light and check if you can see the fire jumping....
it took me like 3 months of random missfire and no power going up hill...
to realize i only had to slide those tube down a bit.....the steel tip should be like an inche deep....
good luck.......
Try having the fluid and filter changed. If the problem persists seek help from a professional. You are driving an 11-year-old car and if you have not had the fluid changed at regular intervals this might be the problem.
I have a 2006 Hyundai tiburon. I have the same problem. Had the computer module changed but it continues to happen. The dealer says that water is getting in the motor and causing it to stop. That is not acceptable
no, the drive train was changed in 96

More than likely you have an ignition failure along the line of the Ignition control module and coil. Basically a connection that is held together by internal gel on the component is disconnecting when warm. I have found the problem. The cam sensor was the problem. I had earlier changed the Air Flow Sensor but the problem persists and as soon as I changed the Cam Sensor the SUV started running like new.
I had this same problem when i installed my stereo CD player its a fuse that blew... changed it out and no more honk when i turn the key! hope it helps!@
According to the Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) For the 1.6 litre four cylinder engine in a 2005 Hyundai Accent ( the timing belt is changed at 60,000 miles )
