The computer automatically turns that check engine light on. After so many starting cycles it will disappear or there is a way to reset your computer. As far as Autozone, well I trust them about as far as I could throw them. Go to a reputable shop and they can put a analizer on and tell you if you have a problem. If the truck runs fine, dont worry about it. It will go off, unless there is a problem and you can tell it. This is usually an emmisions problem, especially if the truck runs great. I just fixed mine. Auto Zone put a code reader on it, found #4 misfire (I think P0304) code. If you look at page 6 I posted my answer. My intake manifold ports from EGR had clogged. The 96' was last year of the filthy exhaust gas recirculation idea for most cars.
Run a compression check on all cylinders. If that cylinder has low compression you have a burned valve or bad head gasket.
The rings could be bad and may needto be replaced. Try getting a compression test to see if they are bad or not. The reason it would run better warm is because the piston and rings expand when warm and this would cause a better seal between the cylinder and the cylinder wall. First thing would be to change the oil and filter. Perform a compression and cylinder leak down test on each cylinder, to determine how, and where, the water intrusion occured.
it is in the front of the vehicle below the oil filter, exhaust manifold and coils
bad ign coil bad plugs bad wires bad fuel filter bad air filter bad cylinder or head (do a compression test)
You acces the oil filter on the 4cylinder engine through the passenger side front wheel well. There should be an acess area for you to go through.
check cylinder compression. rings could be out.
Where is the oil filter on a 6 cylinder Toyota camery? Where is the oil filter on a 6 cylinder Toyota camery?
I do not know about the conversion but it is 4 quarts with the filter changed also.
You do not clean any fuel filter you just replace it. If it has a filter in the tank it is a permanent filter that is only replaced when the pump is replaced.
The fuel filter is a permanent filter located inside the fuel tank. It is only replaced when the pump is replaced.
