It could be the fuel pump inertia switch needs to be reset. It is located in the trunk on the drivers side of the car.

my 98 Lincoln had the same problem and i replaced the battery the car turns over fine now. good luck
ill take a stab at this, it could be that the fuel pump is going out.
It is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and 1=2=3=4 are front to back on the pass side. The dist turns counterclockwise. IT IS ALSO ON THE FAN SHROUD BY THE VACUUM DIAGRAM.
