Same problem... ticking eventually goes away and it starts. Need a new computer.
Clean the battery cables.
Why is your 1993 Altima Nissan making a clicking noise but does not start?
First you must start by removing the entire ignition, itself, on the Nissan 200SX. It should be fairly easy, you will just need the correct tools. Once you have bought the new ignition switch, attach it to the ignition and then re-install the ignition into the Nissan 200SX.
either your battiery is dead or your starter is going out, probably the battiery though
Probable causes: loose cable or wire; faulty starter relay or solenoid.
A clicking sound when you try to start the car is a dead battery. It may be that the alternator is not charging it properly.
I actually had this problem with my first xbox. It turned out to be the hard drive.
nissans are pretty reliable as far as engines go. i have a 98 se-r i need a bit more info to tell you anything. but if its clicking when you start alternator, battery. if it does nothingwhen you try and start it its the starter it may also click if its the starter. you can get your alternator checked at advance auto parts for free, also your starter.
Clicking usually is a sign of a bad battery or starter
starter part were the wires are.
I found out years ago when i had a nissan 200sx my gas started getting into the oil and i changed the fuel pressure regulator and that solved the problem.Good luck
A clicking sound, when trying to start the engine, indicates a dead battery or poor (dirty) battery or starter relay connections. The clicking sound is the starter relay(soleniod) not getting enough power to hold it's contact points together.
