the wiring diagrm shows this wire coming from voltage regulator. anyone know where to find voltage regulator on 1997 Saturn sl1 automatic?
The starter solenoid is attached to the starter. When you replace the starter, you'll get a new solenoid.
Rear of the engine next to the firewall
The transmission shift solenoid on a 2000 Saturn 2L is located inside the transmission. It is typically located on the valve body, which is inside the transmission case. To access and replace the shift solenoid, the transmission will likely need to be partially disassembled.
There is no shift solenoid. There is a Master and slave cylinder instead. Master slave cylinder is bolts underneath the Brake Master cylinder. The slave cylinder is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtrTcX8wym8 Video provided by Richpin :) -RC-
If the starter is engaging and the starter is able to turn the engine normally, there is nothing wrong with the solenoid. Instead, I'd look at fuel, ignition and compression.
Solenoid going bad remove and replace starter assembly.
Oh, dude, replacing a shift solenoid in a 2006 Saturn Ion is like changing a lightbulb, but way more complicated. You gotta locate the transmission, remove the old solenoid, put in the new one, and hope for the best. If you're not a mechanic, maybe just call a pro and save yourself the headache.
There are several solenoids in modern vehicles. For the LS:The starter solenoid is attached to the starter. The fuel pump solenoid is in the fuse box, next to the battery. The headlight solenoid is there too.The horn solenoid is in the same box. That just names a few, but if you're interested in any of the others, please try to be a little more specific.
The shift solenoid on a 2005 Saturn Relay is typically located inside the transmission assembly. To access it, you usually need to remove the transmission pan and filter. The solenoid is mounted on the valve body, which controls the flow of transmission fluid for shifting gears. Always consult a repair manual for your specific vehicle for detailed instructions and diagrams.
The 2000 Saturn does not have a distributor. Instead it uses a "coil pack" system.
It depends on which solenoid you're talking about. For the fuel pump, horn, AC... remove the cover from the fuse/relay box then the relay just pulls out and is easily replaced.
well i know my focus service engine light was on and we just unhooked the battery for 20 seconds and now the light is off and it has been 1 month
