You can not set the timing with a timing light on that year engine. The timing is controlled by the PCM./ Power train control module. You must have an oBD2 engine scanner to set the timing. If the timing is off then the check engine light will be on.
If you have not removed the distributor are moved it around for any reason then the engine timing is correct already. No need to adjust it. Computer does it.
