I don't know about a humming sound but in my 99 GP i have a sort of rattling sound. My mechanic told me that the fan shaft in the "squirrel cage" was bent and that is what is causing the noise. He also told me that it was a pain and faily expensive to fix. I just turn the radio louder. *It could be a loose piece of paper inside the vent pipe or a loose flapper valve between the heat and A/C divider.
