Whether it's the sparkplug , the coil , the fuel mixture etc. causing it to misfire has to be determined

Well With The Check Engine Light on It can Be many problems. If The Check Engine Light Blinks when you hit The gas and The car stutters makeing it feel like a tranny problem it might be a misfire. A misfire can be caused by spark plugs but most likey in the navigator it is a ingnition coil problem. 1st i would go to a repair shop and put it on the the computer to find out the trouble code for the check engine light and take it from there.
