the crankshaft censor is on top of the oil filter houseing!! its on the back side of the motor

Once you've checked the spark plugs, coil pack, distributor, fuel pump and all fuses and they check out to be good, and you have checked to make sure the timing belt has not jumped, then you have a crankshaft censor malfunction. The automobile will turn over but just won't crank. That means you would need to replace the crankshaft censor.
The crankshaft position sensor on this aurora is on the front lower portion of the engine. On the 3.5l v6, there is 1 , on the 4.0l v8 there are 2.-- TechJK ----------------
Take out the old censor and install the new censor just till the face just touches and back it off a quarter turn and then tighten the lock nut then plug in harness and your ready to rock and roll.
On the "front" of the engine - where the accessorie belts are - very bottom usually at the lowest pulley. right or left side.
a92 ford exp. has no camshaft pos. sencor. it has a crankshaft pos. censor.
The variable reluctance sensor is the same as the crankshaft sensor on the 92 Ranger. It is on the front of the engine beside the crankshaft pulley.
The crankshaft sensor is behind the Starter. You have to remove the starter to get to it. You may be able to see it from underneath the car. I had to replace one today..It's a pain in the neck but my car is running great..
The crankshaft sensor should be locate on the lower right hand side of the engine, between the lower pulley and the A/C compressor
The crankshaft position sensor can be found on the back of your 1.4-liter engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crankshaft position sensor.
