try checking your 02 sensors
An engine cylinder misfire has been detected
Think a little deeper. Combustion that fails is a misfire. You have addressed the spark side of it. There is a fuel and compression possible trouble. Try swapping the fuel injector for that cylinder with another and see if the misfire moves to the other cylinder. Compression test the cylinder to see if it is in specs. Try a cylinder leak down test and see if it is losing compression. Perhaps there is a carbon build up on the valves preventing good seating?
Cylinder 3 misfire is correct.
Getting a haircut is a service and no goods changed hands.
I had the same problem and went ahead and replaced cylinder 1 coil and all the spark plugs and it worked.
My chilton's manual says # 3 misfire. Good luck.
It could be your O2 sensors going bad. I had the same problem. you may also want to check the ignition coil
Teh service engine light does not mean you need to service the engine. It means that there is a problem. You should have asked the tech that had his hands on the car. Could be a bunch of things from an injector to a spark plug.
I have heard this is a misfire on a given cylinder, but other things can cause this as well, so, pull and read the stored codes to assist. Any auto parts store, mechanic, or dealership can do this.
4 cylinder has a chain which requires no maintenance. V6 has a belt which must be changed every 110,000 miles.
This happens when there is an Active Misfire, or a urgent pending service matter. Get your codes checked.
I just changed my plugs and wires today. The Service Engine Soon light is off. I am not a mechanic and honestly, I don't think you have to be one. It is not complicated, but it is difficult. I did go ahead and change my ignition rotor and distributor cap. I am glad I gave this a shot, but I probably wouldn't try it again. It is now vibrating quite a bit and I need to figure this one out. I hope this helps you...
