It just means that there is an error code that has been triggered in the ecu. Basically, one of your sensors is telling the computer that something is not running right. It could be a variety of things, because there are many different sensors in the bike. Have you made any modifications: airbox, exhaust etc? If it were a specific mod, many times there are fixes that allow the bike to run better through emulation or simply tying two wires together to fool the computer into thinking that no change has been made. Then again you could have a malfunctioning part that is compromising the bikes performance and safety. Best thing to do is take it to the dealer and within seconds, they can plug it in, read the code, and tell you what the issue is. Hope this helps.
