I had the same problem and found it was the "Map sensor" I replaced it and the car runs fine now
It could, you need to have the codes checked to know possible causes.
Found the problem. OBDII gave me a fault code. P1694. It was the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The sensor was shorting out which caused the gauges to not function.
Ultrasonic gauges need to be replaced every couple of years depending on how many times they are used. They are easily replaced so why not do it when you feel their usefulness is done.
when you had that problem did the van start? we have the same stuff going on but ours wont start
Do you have check engine light? If not you have an electrical problem within the speedometer assembly.
i had this happen once on an 03 dodge minivan. the alternator went bad and the battery was going dead but had enough power to get the engine started. once i replaced the alternator and charged the battery the gauges worked again. good luck!
The check gauges light comes on when one of the gauges is out of its safe range. It could be the alternator over or under charging, oil pressure low, or the engine overheating. The check gauges light comes on when one of the gauges is out of its safe range. I had a 1986 cj that had the same problem. Couldn't find the problem until the dimmer switch on the floorboard went out. Replaced the switch and the gauge lights started to work.
No.
Hey Mona==Get it checked out before you ruin the engine. If the gauge is gound into the red there is a problem somewhere. If you ignore it you can ruin the engine which is megabucks. GoodluckJoe
they dont work
