A bad vehicle ground wire can cause intermittent loss of power to your 1998 Nissan. Check the vehicle ground wire to make sure it is tight and free of corrosion.

Not much information to go on but I would start with changing the fuel filter.
I had an intermittent problem like this with an 2004 Optima EX V6. I changed out the fuel pump and it seems to have corrected the problem, but being intermittent, only time will tell.

Your piston rings are probably bad. Which will cause compression loss, in effect you will loss power, and it will let oil trough and saturate your plugs.
