The term "Silver Dollar" is a widely used [and Misused] term. Is this in fact a coin which says One US Dollar? There are many 'coins' minted today by private firms with as much as 100% silver and since they are not afiliated with the US Treasury, they would not have a mint mark such as you would find on uUS coins in normal [or former] circulation. It is also possible that you have a 'Silver Eagle' which is an authorized US coin. If so, it will have Lady Liberty in a flowing robe, the sun at her feet, and 'In GOD We Trust' to the side. On the back, you should see a bald eagle with 13 stars above his head representing the 13 original colonies, and "One once fine silver One Dollar" printed around the edge. This coin was minted at the US mint in West Point, New York. It is a legal-tender coin, but don't let it go for a dollar! Last time I checked, it was worth over $16.
Maybe $3 on eBay, and it's not made of silver.
Circulated - $1. The coin is made of cupronickel, not silver. Uncirculated - $1.25 to $1.50
The 1964 Kennedy half dollar is a 90% silver coin but so many were made only a very high grade uncirculated example is worth more than the silver in the coin. The silver value today is about $10.00.
If it has the date 2007, it was made in 2007. 1789-1797 are the years George Washington served as President. And if the coin is about the size of a quarter and golden in color, it's not a SILVER dollar, it's made of brass.
I think you mean uncirculated, that's a coin with no wear at all, never used, same condition as when it was made.
There are no 1959 silver dollars made in the U.S. Only Ben Franklin half dollar coins were made this year. The value of a Ben Franklin half dollar ranges from less than $10.00 to approx. $17.50 in uncirculated mint condition.
Only proof or special uncirculated Eisenhower dollars contain silver and that's only 40% or 0.3161oz of pure silver, but these coins were not made for circulation. If you got the coin from a bank or as change, spend it it's just a dollar
A 1971 Eisenhower Dollar in MS60 condition is worth: $10.00 However it's made of copper-nickel, not silver!
These coins are not rare. They're made of copper-nickel like dimes and quarters, rather than silver. Unless they are uncirculated or proof they are worth $1.
The last circulating Peace dollars were made in 1935. Your coin is an Eisenhower dollar and it's made of copper-nickel, not silver. Unless it's in uncirculated condition it's worth only face value up to maybe $1.15.
In general none of the coins made for circulation have any silver and are not worth more than face value. Only proof and uncirculated collectors coins sold from the Mint have premiums. The Mint did offer Proof and Uncirculated coins in 1971-1976 that were struck in 40% silver.
The 1967 Kennedy half dollar is a 40% silver coin (1965-1969) but so many were made only a very high grade uncirculated example is worth more than the silver in the coin. The silver value today is about $4.00
