Sometimes the metal piece at the bottom is stuck. Try sliding it and snapping it. Also try it on another computer. Go to explorer and open drive A. If you get the same message, try to gently remove the metal piece and read it again. Tried that. Still no success. How can four floppies, out of two dozen, suddenly say "not formatted". No magnets near by. Need advise. Can data be saved? read? Help.
Formatted
No, it will not be in a compatible format. Floppy disks must be formatted in FAT in order for a PC to read them. There may however be Linux tools that will be able to read the data.
Actually, you do not always have to format it first; many disks come "pre-formatted." A disk needs to be formatted with a file system so that the operating system can arrange data on it.
Not possible, the same data can be stored both on floppy and HDD.
Formatting prepares a floppy disk to store data
Yes, it must partitioned and formatted.
you cant. once you format it all of the data is gone forever just like the warning said right before you formatted it.
Yes, you can recover your formatted data from your hard disk by using the Recuva recovery software.
a cable for connecting a floppy drive to the computer motherboard.
The best way to recover data from a floppy disk is with floppy disk recovery software, such as Wondershare Data Recovery. Install and open the program. Locate your floppy drive and open it to view the files. You can then use the recovery program to recover any file from a floppy disk, even very badly corrupted ones.
Floppy drive was the first storage with portable data storage capacity.. However the data storing capacity of floppy drive is not enough but in early days it helped a lot..
