In order to bet a value for your Smith and Wesson handgun,I will need to know if your Smith and Wesson is a break open(top break)revolver,or a regular revolver, with a swing out cylinder. If you have a break open model then you have a either a 32 double action made from 1883-1909,or a 32 safety hammerless made from 1902-1909.If you have a regular swing out cylinder revolver it is a 32 Hand Ejector 5th change that was made from 1910-1917.Please identify which model and then we can establish a value for your Smith and Wesson.
S&W, H&R, M&H to name but a few
If it's a modern revolver, you activate the cylinder release, open the cylinder, and push the ejector rod.
If your revolver is an Iver Johnson Viking, it is a top break revolver. Holding the revolver in your right hand (finger OFF the trigger) use thumb and forefinger of left hand to grasp barrel latch (between back of cylinder and hammer) lift the latch, and revolver breaks open. If this does not work, take it to a gunsmith.

Open the cylinder, it should be located near hinge.
I have a friend who has a 32 cal, break open hammerless revolver, chrome finished, in excellent shape. As near as the person who had it remembered, it was perchased around the early thirties. It is stamped American Revolver co. with ivory grips.
