The turn signal flasher is integrated with the 4 way flasher switch located on the dash.
The easy way to open the hood manually on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, when the cable is not working is to put the car on a hoist and use a long pole to trip the hood latch. Then lower the vehicle and open the hood the rest of the way. Replace or repair the cable for the hood latch before closing the hood.
It is quite simple to replace the four-way flasher relay switch in your 1986 Chevrolet Astro Van. The four-way flasher relay switch simply plugs in and out.
On my 2001 (same as 97) Cavalier under the steering column is a flap that is held in place by one torx screw. Drop that and you should be able to look way up and see the wires coming out of the flasher unit. The unit is attached to something metal by not much. Grab the whole assembly (flasher unit and its plug) and wiggle it free. Then you can separate the flasher unit and its plug. BTW the old unit was bright green or maybe that is some kind of cover that helps to reattach it but I didn't bother.
you need a new flasher for your singal lights.
I own a 1990 Chevy Astro Van and the turn signal flasher is located underneath the steering wheel below the lever for the engine hood. An easy way to find it is to signal left and listen for the flasher unit clicking.
NO.
you will have to take your dash apart from were the gauges are all the way to the radio
To replace the flasher relay on a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD, unplug the old turn signal flasher and plug in the new one. It is a three prong plug located under the dash on the driver's side. The hazard flasher relay works the same way.
The easiest way to reset your 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier theft system is to remove the fuse. Keep the fuse out for 10 seconds and replace it to its original slot.
i have a 95 cavalier not sure if this will help. Take off the kick plate underneath your steering column that covers all the wiring. You will see a cylindrical object. It will be plugged in. It has two prongs like a regular appliance. There are lots of pics of them on the internet if you search, it will make your finding it a lot easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have a 94 cavalier coupe. There are 2 flasher relays. One is for the 4-way hazards and this is located to the right of the fuse box (the fuse box is located right above where you left foot would rest while driving). The other flasher is for your turn signals and is a little harder to get to. Take off the panel that goes below your steering column and you will see an flasher relay located down and to the left of the steering column. Both flasher relays look like a silver round "thing" with 3 prongs.
The 4 way flasher is usually installed in the fuse box and the turn signal flasher is mounted next to the steering column on the right side. Most late 80s and 90s GM vehicles are this way. However, I am not 100% certain on your car.
