Wow that's kinda funny because when I think of it the 6.0L is a real piece of crap. I'm sorry you own one. Well lots of issue could have happen. It be better if I knew the year. Any ways here it goes. Camsensor (uncommon) Fuel pump (maybe) High pressure oil leak (ya that it) The 2003 and early 2004 had real problems with their HPOP (high pressure oil pumps). The oil rails on the injectors don't have issues and how the pump was connected to the branch tube wasn't an issue either they just had crappy pumps (Made of alumminum) Then mid 04 they redisigned and the pump is good (cast Iron)...... But then introduced a different way of connecting it to the branch tube and that is a real issue. Not to mention they also redesigned the oil rails on top of the fuel injectors that have some dummy plugs that are prone to fail. This is the most common crank no start issue we have with the that engine. So I would just about guarantee that is the issue. Basically the whole system is under very high pressure (3000+ PSI) and if any seal, o'ring fails then no start. It may start cold then when the oil is warm and thinner then it finds it's way out and back to the crank case. Unfortinetly the correct way to diagnose where the leak is only the dealer has them one of the steps is to open the IPR (injector pressure regulator) to 97.8% and to do so well you need the very expensive scan tool. Unless you can go ahead and put 12v to it. Kinda hard to get to thou. Anyways I would leave it to the pros they do it all day long. Have them diag may charge 2-3hr to do so then you do the work??? Any ways Hope this helps don't be suprised if the phone call saying "ya you have rail plug and an stc fitting leaking it's gonna be 2500 bucks" Hope this helps sorry for the bad news.
Powerstroke 57
The 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8 engine.
International Truck and Engine Company makes the PowerStroke Diesel engine for Ford. They also made the 6.9L IDI engine and 7.3L IDI engine. They made the 6.9L IDI, 7.3L IDI, 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel, and 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel. Ford strayed away from International for 2011 because of many problems with the 6.0L and 6.4L. For 2011, Ford is making its own diesel engine, the 6.7L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8.
7.3 is made by international
If you want to purchase a new first hand Ford Powerstroke then you can likely purchase one from a Ford show room, where you will also likely to be able to choose your ideal colour and functionality.
no its just 7.3 turbo the powerstroke came in late 94 and 1995
A healthy 7.3L Powerstroke should run at around 23 p.s.i.
