Located at the evaporator inlet which is under the dash in the heater/AC housing.
There is no expansion valve. There is an orifice tue. It is located in the inlet tube of the evaporator core.
What about it?
The AC receiver drier on a 1995 Honda Civic is on the high-pressure side of the system. It is between the expansion valve inlet and condenser outlet.
Located at inlet to AC evaporator which is located under the dash in about the center of the firewall. The entire dash has to come out to get to it.
The expansion valve, will be in the AC unit on the Passenger side of your truck, right behind the glove box. First remove the glove box, and the the screws on the perimeter of the ac box as well as in front, it should open up, and it will be at the top right front of the box.
The inlet side is the low side - this will have the larger hose. On a Thermal Expansion Valve system, this hose will run from the evaporator outlet to the compressor inlet. On a Fixed Orifice Tube system, this hose will run from the accumulator outlet to the compressor inlet. The outlet side is the high side, and the hose will run from the compressor outlet to the condenser inlet.
yes
It starts at the outlet valve of the metering device and ends at the inlet valve of the compressor. The evaporator is on the low pressure side of the system, as is the accumulator, if your vehicle has a Fixed Orifice Tube system.
My 94 escort was doing the same thing. I replaced the throttle valve assembly and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully that helps you out.
For most AC systems, the outlet of the expansion valve or orifice tube is where the low pressure side begins, which includes the evaporator and the inlet of the compressor. In between the metering device outlet and the compressor inlet, you'll have the evaporator. In a Fixed Orifice Tube system, the accumulator will also be on the low pressure side.
