remove 2 control wires(1 is under the glove box and the other is in the middle under dash). drain coolant enough to empty the heater cores. remove the heater hoses where the go into the firewall. on the firewall engine side remove 4 nuts, 1 behind the battery tray,1 above where the heater hose goes in,1 below that and 1 behind the valve cover. now disconect the wire going to the black plastic housing (inside passenger side). wiggle the housing and it should come out. the heater core is inside this housing all that is left is to remove a couple of bolts on the housing to access the inside where the core is located.assemble in reverse order

The heater core is located in the middle of the dash behind the center console. You have to take the console out to see the heater core.
I wouldn't think you could flush a heater core. you can flush a radiator. Heater core you would have to replace if it is leaking or stopped up
The hoses to the heater core can be disconnected under the hood. connect a water hose to the core, and try to flush the core to unclog it.

Apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling off the jackstands.Drain the cooling system.Remove drain hose from the bottom of the heater case.Working in the engine compartment, disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall.Remove the right and left sound insulators and steering column trim cover.Disassemble the dash as necessary for access. Remove the heater outlet duct and glove box.Remove the heater core cover. Pull straight back to avoid breaking the drain tube.Remove the heater core clamps and remove the heater core.Installation is the reverse of removal.
