97 GMC Jimmy Ignition Help When I insert the ignition key engine turns over but won't start till I turn key off and on several times to activate dash lites then it starts. Could this be the switch.?

i have the same exact problem with my jimmy and i believe it is the igniton switch. and if it won't let you take yoor keys out it's the little "rod celanoid" that acts as a safety and won't let you take your ke out or put it in drive from park.
