Follow the AC tubing from the compressor. The port is located on the metal part of the tube. It has a plastic cover over it (maybe) and is about 1/2 inch in diameter. There are two ports. (one on each tube) The recharge port is, I think, the smaller of the two, but don't quote me.
If you're having trouble, it's worth taking the car to a shop that does AC work, and ask for a checkup. You might have a leak which you can't detect. The shop will put dye in the refrigerant that will show up at a leak source. Most mechanics do NOT recommend using a leak sealer as it can further damage the system. Some mechanics will not evacuate a system that has sealer in it, as it's damaging to their equipment.
I just went through all this on my Saturn. It took 3 replacement compressors before I found a good one. The first leaked, the second just didn't compress very well, and the 3rd is seemingly OK. I went in for a leak check on it just yesterday. All is well and the system is cooling. Some things you just can't do yourself due to legal restrictions or the availability of expensive equipment.
Exhaust system. Usually manifold near port(s).
I have a 2001, and the recharge port is on the passenger side, on the firewall. It's got a green cap on it and so far has been impossible to get to. Good luck.
The 2000 Pontiac Bonneville air conditioning compressor low pressure port is located on the bottom of the compressor. You can recharge your cooling system through the low pressure port.
Look under car...look for blue c as p near compressor...
where is the ac recharge port on a 93 ford explorer located?
Black capped port on the front left (as you face the car with the hood up) of the engine compartment. It's right by the radiator in my 3.4L SE1.
You will need to connect your Freon bottle to the low pressure port on your 2002 Chevy Cavalier air conditioning compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor. A Freon recharge kit will come with everything you need and instructions.
Open the hood and look to your left and right below the coolant reserve tank you should see a silver steel line going across the engine at the very front of the hood right by the hood latch and you will see on the left side right on this line a black cap and that is your "recharge port" for the R134A AC. hope this helps! I got a 2001 SE and that is where mine is.... :-)
I'm trying to recharge my 2001 ML 320 with R134A coolant. Does the engine and compressor need to be running Is the port against the back fire wall ?
The Freon recharge port can be found on the top of the air conditioner compressor. There will be two ports. The recharge port will be labeled as the low pressure port.
On my '93, there is no consumer serviceable port. I think the recharge has to be done by a technician.
It is right behind the fans, right below the exhaust manifold. It is blue and has a letter "L" on it.
