Best Answer

Cubic Inch Displacement, (CID). Volume of an engine’s cylinder and combustion chamber, with the piston at bottom dead center, multiplied by its number of cylinders. (bore x bore x stroke x .7854 x no. of cylinders) This measurement is no longer used. Today the metric equivalent is used. As in a 350 CID is now a 5.7 Liter.
