1- recognize a change in the environment . 2-determine the cause f that change . 3-change behavior to have a positive impact.
Those that are ill suited to their environment do not survive to pass on their genetic material. Those that are do. A random mutation will not survive unless it endows its possessor with some kind of advantage.
A constant environment will not select different animals but if we assume that the earth's environment is changing then a wide range of genetic variation and a wide range of biodiversity will mean that as the environment does change then at least some of the organisms will survive
Adaptation is the evolutionary process whereby a population becomes better suited to its habitat. The word adaptation comes from the root word "adapt" and means to change in a way that is beneficial to survival. Most people and animals will adapt to new surroundings if forced to. It means changing something to fit the circumstance, or changing an action or response to better deal with something. In nature, it can be a physical or a behavioral change in response to the environment. Adaptation means a behavior or physical characteristic that allows an organism to survive or reproduce in its environment. Adaptation is the process of something altering itself to fit in the surrounding system Adaptation means any characteristic that an animal has that helps them to survive in their environment. There are physical and behavioral adaptations.

An adaption.
All animals have a type of homeostatic behavior within them because Homeostasis is the regulation of the internal environment to compensate for a change in the external. Without this adaptation nothing would survive. An example of this in worms is that of the osmoregulation in their bodies (the adjusting of a salty environment by holding in more water).
Organizational psychologists study the structure of organizations and apply principals of human behavior to facilitate organizational change. Organizational psychologists also apply these principals to questions of organizational hierarchy/structure, company culture, workplace environment, quality control etc.
