There is no single base camp in Antarctica. Most research stations are located near the continent's coasts.
Dakshin Gangotri.(coordinates )Set up in1988, but later decommissioned in 1990 and was converted into a supply base.
There are three permanent basis supported by the government of India. Bharati in the Larsemann Hills, Dakshin Gangotri near Schirmacher Oasis, and Maitri Station in Schirmacher Oasis.
The first Indian research base named Dakshin Gangotri was set up on the ice shelf off the Princess Astrid Coast in central Queen Maud Land in 1983. This base was decommissioned due to excessive snow accumulation in 1989. Maitri is India's second permanent research station in Antarctica. It was built and finished in 1989, shortly before the first station Dakshin Gangotri was buried in ice and abandoned in 1990-91. Maitri is situated on the rocky mountainous region called Schirmacher Oasis, which is about 90 kms from the original base.
The continental rise is located at the base of the continental slope, where the incline lessens and sediment from the continent accumulates. It marks the transition between the continental margin and the deep ocean basin.
Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania has the largest base and bulk of rock mass on the African continent. It is a standalone mountain with a wide base, making it visually striking from a distance.
There are no 'base camps' per se on the Antarctic continent -- if you mean a place where people prepare to summit a large mountain. There are, however, many research stations on the Antarctic continent.
Dumont D'Urville is French -- Base Dumont d'Urville -- and is located at 66°39′46″S 140°0′07″E on the Antarctic continent.
The apex is located above the centre of the base.
