A dormant volcano is one that is just sleeping and it is possible to erupt again. An extinct volcano will never erupt again.

dormant volcanoes are not as active as active volcanoes, but can erupt unexpectedly. the only volcanoes that we know when will erupt for sure are extinct volcanoes, because they will never erupt again.

a volcano that will never erupt again is called an extinct volcano

The active volcano is erupting or has erupted recently. A dormant volcano has not erupted recently, but may erupt again in the furture. It could be considered as "sleeping". An extinct volcano will never erupt again.

Active volcanoes erupt. Dormant volcanoes are quiet - but may erupt again some day. Extinct volcanoes have "closed up shop" for good, and will never erupt again.

An active volcano is erupting or has erupted recently. An extinct volcano will never erupt again. A dormant volcano was not erupting recently but may erupt in the future. You could call it "sleeping".

active is when the volcano is going to or is erupting. dormant is when the volcano is not erupted but is sleeping. extinct means that the volcano is dead and it will never erupt again.

Erupted recently - active. Hasn't erupted recently but could - dormant. Will never erupt again - extinct

They can either be extinct, which basically means they will never erupt again, or Dormant, were they haven't erupted in a long time.

It depends, a volcano can erupt once and never erupt again. Or, a volcano can erupt multiple times a day.

•Volcanoes are found in three different states-•Active which means: Erupted recently and expected to erupt again.•Dormant which is: A volcano which has not erupted in recorded history.•Extinct this means: A volcano which is never going to erupt again.

Erupted recently - active. Hasn't erupted recently but could - dormant. Will never erupt again - extinct.

An extinct volcano that has not erupted for at least 10,000 years and is not expected to erupt again. A dormant volcano may have erupted several thousand years or more before and is not expected to erupt again, but it still has a magma supply.

An active volcanoe is erupting or has erupted recently. A dormant volcano has not erupted recently, but may erupt again in the future. It could be considered as "sleeping". An extinct volcano will never erupt again.

A dormat is a volcano that will never erupt again.

An active volcano is one which periodically erupts, spewing forth lava, and assorted gases. A dormant volcano is one which has stopped erupting and may not erupt again for a long time, although we can't say exactly how long. An extinct volcano is one which will never erupt again. There is no more hot magma inside it, it has all cooled down and is now solid rock.

A sleeping volcano is a volcano which hasn't erupted in ages but has erupted in the past and will carry on erupting in the future. Another name for a sleeping volcano is a dormant volcano. Volcanoes can go through a dormant or sleeping phase sometimes lasting for hundreds of years before reawakening and erupting again. Volcanoes with no geological activity are "extinct", and will never erupt again.

A dead volcano, better known as an extinct volcano is a volcano that will never erupt again.

ACTIVE! Ones that are sleeping but could erupt again are called DORMaNT! And ones that are never going to erupt again are called EXTINCT!

The volcano is said to be dormant. Mount Fiji is classed by some scientists as dormant or inactive. Its last eruption was in 1707, but some scientists still class it as active. So, you can't ever say never again, were volcanoes are concerned.

Never, its called a monogenetic volcano(actually its technically a cinder cone), which means it will never erupt again and is considered extinct.

With volcanoes, it is never absolutely certain. But a volcanic feature that should not erupt again is called extinct. One that is not expected to erupt is called dormant. A volcano that might erupt again is called active. The word extinct is usually used for volcanoes that last erupted many thousands of years ago, and show little or no signs of tectonic activity.

Probably never going to erupt again.

Yes. If it doesn't erupt and never has erupted then it is not a volcano.
