If the generator is delivering 100 KW of power and the Voltage is 10 KV, then it's supplying current at

I = P/E = (100,000/10,000) = 10 Amperes.

If 10A is flowing through cable with a total resistance of 5 ohms, the power dissipated by the cable is

P = I2R = (10)2 x (5) = 500 watts.

Nice problem !

What is critical resistance of the field circuit of a DC generator?

The value of resistance of shunt field winding beyond which the shunt generator fails to build up its voltage is known as " critical resistance at a given speed it is the maximum field resistance with which the shunt generator excite.

Is the critical resistance of shunt field less or more than the field resistance of generator?

More due to the impedance levels in the generator

Define the term critical field resistance?

critical resistance is the maximum resistance beyond which the generator failed to exite. it can b found form the occ of the generator.

What is the difference between earth resistance and insulation resistance?

insulation resistance can be measured by means of megger, with built in d.c generator. It is measured between the conductor and the earth. earth resistance can be measured by means of earth resistance tester. For good effective earthing, th earth resistance should be of order 0.5 ohm

it is the resistance with which the generatoe just excite.

What is difference between parity checker and parity generator?

A parity generator checks the data to be transmitted and outputs a 0(parity bit) if the number of logic 1's in the data is even, and a logic 0 if the number is odd. So a checker takes the transmitted data and the parity bit and will compare the two, and if they are both of the same logic then the you can conclude that the data was recieved succesfully(i.e no bits were lost during transmission). Parity checker/generator use the exact same devices, but with one comparing instead of generating.

What is the difference between a commercial power generator and a regular power generator?

The difference between a commercial power generator and a regular power generator is that a commercial one is much expensive than the regular one. It's much better to purchase the regular generator if your not planning to use it for business purposes.
