The knocking problem you are having is most likely the gas you are using. If you switch to a higher octane fuel it should solve the problem.
its the trany going out.
Lugging engine? Should be in a lower gear to prevent engine damage
It should take you a little over 3 minutes if you travel at 40mph constantly
A 40cc engine wont even touch 40mph. It stresses a 175cc engine to go 40mph. A 40cc engine will go roughly 10 miles an hour based on how much the engine weighs and how much weight you put on top of it.
Sounds like it could be a bad thermostat - not closing to allow engine to heat to normal operating temperature
70m/40mph = 1+3/4 hours total if speed is a constant 40mph (70m-30m)/40mph = 1 hour remaining with above conditions met

It's about 13 hrs. and 15 min. if your traveling 40mph
misfire maybe.
.28 goes between 30-40mph
It is traveling at about 58.66 feet per second.
Yes, you can be, but speeding like that is considered normal in most circumstances and may be overlooked.
