A model for the solar system in which the sun and planets condensed from a cloud (or nebula) of gas and dust
They believe a large gas cloud in space was condensed into what we now call the sun. Chunks of this cloud flew into orbit around the sun and eventually condensed into planets.
They say the origin of the planets was believed to be formed out of the cloud from which the sun condensed
It was a nebula.
That is called an accretion disk or a proto-Solar system.
A solar nebula is a rotating cloud of gas and dust from which the sun and planets formed. I hope this helps :))
The solar system condensed out of an interstellar dust cloud; the original cloud was not a perfectly symmetrical object, either in shape or in composition, and as it condensed, the result was not neat or orderly; there were lots of collisions as well as near misses that altered planetary orbits.
at present the theory is that all of the planets that make up the solar system were formed at the same time when the Solar System condensed out of a cloud of gas about 4.5-4.7 billion years ago.
Solar nebula.
It is sometimes called the Solar nebula.
The solar system did not form from a nebula at all. Our solar system formed from a rotating cloud of gas and dust, our sun formed at the center and planets formed from the surrounding matter. when our sun became large enough to support nuclear fusion, the solar wind created blew away most of the gases present. A planetary nebula is formed after a star runs out of fuel (Helium) and collapses inward on itself due to the massive amount of gravity and the now unstable balance of the star. the pressure then becomes so great that the gases that had been pulled inward explode outward at an incredible speed. The Cats Eye Nebula is a good exampleFile:NGC7293_(2004).jpg
Theory that states dust and clouds condensed to form the sun and the planets by gravitational means
Pieces of rock that accreted in the solar nebula (cloud that formed the sun and planets).
