It is a region of unwound DNA that is transcribing ribosomal RNA. So the region has proteins that read DNA sequences and then turn them into segments of RNA that are then bind to ribosomal proteins located in the nucleolus. This is the beginning of the assembly of the ribosome complex, a protein/RNA complex that is responsible for producing all of the proteins in the cell. Because of the need for many of these complexes the regions of DNA coding ribosomal RNA are located on many chromosomes so many assembly regions can take place at once. This is atypical for any DNA sequence as most genes have one location on a single chromosome.

What is the small spherical body within the nucleus?

The small spherical body within the nucleus is called the nucleolus. It is involved in the production of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in the cell.

Can you give an exaple of an nucleolus?

You can't give an "example" of a nucleolus, because a nucleolus is a specific type of organelle. There aren't different types of nucleoli. A nucleolus is a dense structure within the nucleus composed of proteins, RNA and DNA, and is where ribosomes are assembled.

What is the function nucleolus?

The nucleolus is a non-membrane bound structure composed of proteins and nucleic acids found within the nucleus. The function of the nucleolus is to transcribe and assemble ribosomal RNA.

What is the nucleolus made of?

"Nucleoli are made of protein and ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequences of chromosomes." for more info click on this link (this is where i got the info about nucleolus) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleolus

Site where ribosomal RNA is made?

Ribosomal RNA is made in the nucleolus, a specific region of the cell's nucleus. The nucleolus is responsible for assembling ribosomes, which are composed of ribosomal RNA and proteins, and play a critical role in protein synthesis within the cell.

Where are the ribosomes composed of?

Ribosomes are composed of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and proteins. The rRNA molecules are synthesized in the nucleolus of the cell and then combine with proteins to form the ribosomes in the cytoplasm.

What is the dense center portion of the nucleus?

The dense center portion of the nucleus is called the nucleolus. It is responsible for producing ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis within the cell. The nucleolus is composed of proteins and RNA.

What is the definition of nucleolous?

The nucleolus is a non-membrane bound structure composed of proteins and nucleic acids found within the nucleus.

What are some of the characteristics of the nucleolus?

The nucleolus is a prominent structure in the nucleus, primarily responsible for ribosome biogenesis. It is composed of proteins and RNA, and is involved in processing and assembling ribosomal subunits. The nucleolus is not membrane-bound and can be seen under a microscope as a dense region.

The parts that make up ribosomes are contained in a ball-like structure called the?

The assembly of ribosomes begins in a small dense structure called the nucleolus. The nucleolus is a non-membrane bound structure composed of proteins and nucleic acids found within the nucleus.

What is a nucleus and nucleolus?

Nucleus represents a whole eukaryotic complex that contains genetic information. It controls the structure and working of cells. Nucleolus is a component of nucleus. It synthesizes ribosomal subunits.

How do you spell nucleolus?
