Why can an induction heating process heat magnetic material faster than non magnetic material?

To heat something by induction (which is and oscillating magnetic field), the material has to react to the magnetic field. As the magnetic field is made to oscillate, the molecules of the material are pulled and vibrated in sympathy with the field and their vibration energy increases. Heat IS the vibration of molecules. Thus induction heating will work on a magnetic material but will have no effect on a material that is not magnetically susceptible.

I thought 18 8 Stainless Steel was supposed to be non magnetic?

The "8" means 8% nickel. Than is a magnetically active material.

What is a magnetic material?

I thing magnetic material is an material that is magnetic

What is the difference between magnetic metal and nonmagnetic metal?

When magnetic material is kept in a magnetic field then it experiences a force. when nonmagnetic material is placed then there is no force acting on it. If you know, the origin of magnetism, you will find that when the electrons of any substance cancel the total charge of each other(produced by their spinning and moving around the nucleus) then that sub. is non-magnetic.

Magnetic striping is a part of?

Magma contains many materials which are magnetically affected. When this magma is ejected from the mantle and begins forming new crust, these materials align to the earth's magnetic field. The crust hardens, and the magnetic alignment is fixed (just as in normal magnets, made by using a similar process). The magnetic fields are 'visile' in strips of material, hence the term 'magnetic striping'. seafloor spreading

Why isn't water a magnetic material?

Water is magnetic material but dia magnetic

Is a magnet an object that can exert force on another material?

Only if the "other material" is magnetic, or paramagnetic (susceptible to magnetic forces)

Why is it a bad idea to make an electromagnetic crane out of a magnetically hard material?

it will stick to itself!

Does magnetism go through all materials?

yes, magnetism is a non-contact force, just because something is not magnetic doesnt mean it wont go through it, much like gravity except some things are magnetically neutral Magnetic material such as iron can shield enclosures from magnetic lines of force.

When none of the magnetic domains in a material will stay aligned the material is called?

temporarily magnetic
