A pure substance made of only one type of atom is an element.
An element, or elementary substance.
An element.
Helium, pure and simple. Hydrogen is normally H2 with one hydrogen atom sharing an electron with another hydrogen atom.
This is an element.
Element
a pure substance is made up of only one type of atom. atoms can't be broken down (divided) definition of an atom: that which cannot be divided. there ya go! ur welcome :) -shamansh
This is a chemical element.
A pure substance is a substance that cannot be separated by means of physical separation but only by chemical. It is a change in time.
I thought it was pure substance. But i recently took a Science Test of these subject(i'm also in 8th grade) and it was the same question...EXACTLY! I put down Pure substance as well but appearantly the answer was "All of the Above" which included A.Pure Substance B.Compound C.Element ... so as long as you can prove it was only pure substance( This was for extra credit to get points back on the test for my teacher) You got the points. In my opinion a Pure Substance is the substance in which there is only one type of particle. I hoped this helped :)
A pure substance is something that is only composed of one component. So, everything in the periodic table as well as every single molecule can be considered a pure substance. For example, a block of sulfur is a pure substance because it's made entirely out of sulfur. Another example would be a cup of pure acetone because there is only acetone inside the cup. So, salt water is not a pure substance because it's water mixed with salt.
Element
Yes, an element is a pure substance. An element is composed of only one type of atom. There are no other substances in it. So an element is a pure substance.
Matter with only one particular kind of atom is known as an element. These atoms can either be located individually or combined into larger units. An example of this would be the notion that carbon is an element, because at it's pure substance state it's composed of only carbon atoms.
A pure substance is either an element or compound. Elements are composed of only one kind of atom, and compounds are composed of a definite proportion of atoms of different elements that is always the same.
A pure substance or an element.
No. An element is a pure substance made of only one kind of atom. A compound is a pure substance made of two or more kinds of atom.
Carbon monoxide is a molecular compound made up of one carbon atom and one oxygen atom. It is not an element because it is composed of different types of atoms. However, it can be considered a pure substance because it consists of only carbon and oxygen atoms combined in a fixed ratio.
A pure substance that consists of only one type of atom is an element.
A mixture is a substance composed of two or more components physically combined. An element is a pure substance composed of one kind of atom. A compound is a pure substance formed when atoms of two or more elements chemically combine.
atom
A substance made up of only one kind of atom is an element, which is a pure substance.
Matter that is not a mixture of different types of Atoms. A pure substance is a collection of Matter that is comprised from [and or composed of] Atoms of only One Atomic Element.
