Congestion of a vocal cord typically means that you have excess mucus buildup in your vocal cords. To fix this, simply gargle a bit of mouthwash and use lozenges.
Vocal cord nodules and polyps are noncancerous growths on the vocal cords that affect the voice.
A sigh breath does not use the vocal cords in any obligatory manner. However, a sigh breath may be accompanied by vocal cord vibration.
Exactly the same. Sonar is Sound. We use the word sonar to indicate what use that the sound is put to- not to differentiate it from sound its self.
No, you don't. The sound is made by the air going through your lips and has no relationship to the vocal cords.
No matter what cord I use, no sound will come through the amp. How can I fix this?
it means that if the role or words tell you to make it sound sad,you use your voice and put sorrow or misery in its sound.
I had this problem about 25 years ago....before widespread use of CAT scans and before the invention of the MRI A small tumor, a hamartoma, was found after extensive X rays in the musculature controlling the vocal cord I had surgery to remove it with good results. Later, I experienced serious voice weakness, as there may have been damage in the imprecise effort to excise the tumor. There was significant dyssymmetry in the vocal cord movement. The doctors could never could determine the reason, except the surgery damage theory. I had medialization thyroplasty to "shim" the weaker vocal cord toward the mid-line with good results. At present, I have a strong voice but this is because each morning I inhale water in the shower to "wash off" the vocal cords. In other words, the acccumulation of phlegm overnight is not moved away normally by my vocal cord movement---so I do it artificially with the hot shower water. After my experience, I am convinced that quite a number of people to not have perfect vocal cord symmetry. Beware, many speech therapists and EMTs are not very aware of these procedures I recommend contact with Dr. Albert Merati at the University of Washington Roger in Wichita
Yes, very. They sound like distressed cows repeatedly complaining. They use this sound like Marco Polo the game. They use it to find each other and to alert the herd of predators. Their sound is very useful and helpful.
Bats use their vocal tract to make ultrasonic sound the same way we use our vocal tract to make audible sound. They use these for a form of SONAR navigation allowing them to "see" in total darkness. Also many insect eating bats can focus their ultrasonic sound to use it to stun their prey.
When air from the lungs is passed over the vocal cords inside the larynx, they vibrate. This makes a sound. The vocal cords are tightened or relaxed to change their length. This changes the speed of vibration which alters the pitch. If only the larynx is involved, the sound comes out as a dull 'aaah' in varying pitch. No recognisable words can be formed without the use of the lips, teeth, tongue and palate. This is why people with serious facial injuries or with many teeth missing often have trouble speaking or being understood.
