I'm not sure what it means but I know when I am messing up in my life I find them. It started happening after my father died. When things are going good I don't see them around but when I've done something wrong (Like drinking too much.) I will find them in weird place like you said you did. I was thinking can it mean "Change"? Hence that a dime is considered change? That's what I thought it could mean but I don't really know for sure.
